although there were many different options for our trainee excursion 2020 we decided almost unanimously to do a stand up paddeling tour on the donau in ulm.
the excursion started on thursday with a common lunch at our headquarter in seißen. after the lunch axel falch showed us the construction site of our new production and logistics building. axel knew many details and insider stories which made the tour very interesting for us. during the tour, our new trainees and axel had the opportunity to get to know each other better and some of us took the chance for a closer look at their future workplaces even before the upcoming move.
afterwards we drove to the stand up paddeling station in ulm. when we arrived everybody got their own paddle + board and we went straight into the water. at the beginning we had to get used to the boards and the waterflow but after a short period of time everyone had developed their own technique for paddeling and we started with our tour towards the friedrichsau.
luckily the weather was perfect and not even the cold water could stop the most of us from jumping - more or less voluntary - into the donau. :) downstream we moved quick but when we turned to get back to the station it became quite sporty because we had to paddle against the waterflow. as soon as everyone got back to the starting point we went to have dinner together in ulm.
there was no question that the following dinner at the barfüßer was well deserved. a perfect day came to an end in a funny and relaxed round and we can look back on a really nice trainee excursion 2020 – just like every year.
